Welcome to Terra Inculta

This is a simple site for now. I've been meaning to update it and really get some good stuff on here for the last two years. Ha! I've always got projects to do, things to study, or books to read so I rarely find the time for something purely silly. This is a problem I shall have to rectify soon.

I've been meaning also to get my website for my webdesign business up and running, but ironically I've just been stuck on picking a name for forever. If you've come here looking for something along those lines in the meantime, feel free to just shoot me an email. Otherwise, enjoy the random stuff that's around.

Wassail.

04.30.07-5:40PM. - Life has been busy. I've been posting somewhat more regularly to my LiveJournal, but I had this grand idea, so I setup a blag but I've yet to integrate it with this site and my LJ like I've been meaning to (story of my life).

I was commissioned for and built WeddingSteps.net tho in the meantime, a wedding directory and info site for the CT and NY area. I did the basic design and massive php/mysql backend that runs the whole thing. Weeee. Can really use the money tho.

We went to Turks and Caicos, which was far too much fun. I setup a site for our pics which is basically up to date, except for the photos that Maureen keeps wanting to take of the apartment. Also, I've been studying for my A+ certification and whatnot in hopes of landing a job more suited towards my goals. Unfortunately it means I haven't been able to do as much flash work as I 'd like, but que sara. Now I must run and do more menutia, hurrah!

10.30.06-1:48AM. - I'm not going to CT. I am staying. Life is insanely crazy. The last month has been spent finding an apartment, packing, and generally being chaotic. In other news, I just finished: www.wherifone411.com the other day for a guy. It should, in theory, lead to several other projects on top of what I'm already doing. Who knows. Extra money would be nice because furnishing an apartment is surprisingly expensive. I am very tired and I have work in the morning. I may lose internet this next week, but we'll see how long it takes Comcast to get it installed in my new place. WAH.

09.26.06 - As I ponder weak and weary. The problem with having my very own personal website is that since I have such grand plans, whenever I manage to eek out free time, I rarely devote it to writing an inane blurb for this update bit here. Regardless, much life has happened since that first update. My premonitions so far this year have been basically incorrect. Hasn't been too bad. Life has of course repeatedly thrown me curveballs, but nothing worse than what I've grown accustomed to.

I've been eating healthier, going to the gym four days a week, and just generally trying to get more fit. I have a trib to Turks and Caicos in December that I'm greatly looking forward to. The possibility of moving down to CT with Moe and what have you is looking extremely good. All in all things are going fairly okay.

I'm going to get a real server soon and drop this godaddy BS. It was always meant to be temporary, but between work, gym, overtime, funtime, and just general vegetating, I've never gotten around to it. Plus, they really nickel and dime you to death. I'm also making a concerted effort to finish these various projects that I have going on and get some of this other stuff finished. Including all my stock market research. I've been averaging on The Virtual Stock Exchange about 1% a week, works out compounded to something extremely nice. Now I just need $100,000 to play with. My attempts at Forex trading were only mildly successful, taking $100 and turning it into $150 in a matter of days. However, it's basically gambling, reminding me FAR too much of Hold'em. At least with the stock market, things are *generally* driven by something in particular. With Forex, this is only true in the broadest sense, and trading 100:1 on leverage is kind of risky (but I liked buying hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of currency ;)

Those are my general thoughts at the moment tho, however disordered they are. I should go update my Livejournal too. Oh. And I've been replaying the Silent Hill games. Good lord, they frighten me beyond belief. I've never played Silent Hill 4:The Room before and it's EXTREMELY good. Has me completely terrified. Urck.

01.03.06 - Well, it's a New Year. I have an ominimous feeling about the coming year. Any year that involves a 2, two 0's, and a 6 can't be good. Whatever, I don't particularly feel like it's going to be a bad year, but rather a long hard one that will have good results in 2007. That's what my wooden leg tells me anyways.

I've finished my friend Mark Richman's site, http://www.victortrump.com, for now at least. I like it, but we're redoing it a bit once the graphic designer comes on board. I've also got a few offers for other jobs, plus a site Mark and I are going to start specifically. Good things.

I got an excellent book the other day. Alcoholica Esoterica by Ian Lendler. Half trivia, half history of the world viewed through alcohol's eyes, it's entertaining, well written, and informative. I originally heard about it because they were featuring it on a segment of NPR, then I saw it in Barnes & Noble and I was like "Hey!" I really like it, very enjoyable, easy read. My only word of warning echoes the author's, only read it with a stiff drink in hand to limit retention, lest you end up sounding like the town drunk (Think Cliff Clavin).

It being the new year, and a whole month since I've updated my website, I decided it was time to make it look all purdy, so here's a new design. I made it very earthy, nature, fancy like. I like it, comments are welcome.
